BMW's Auto Start Stop Is Life-Threatening, Suit Says

Law360, New York (October 16, 2013, 5:05 PM EDT) -- BMW of North America LLC was hit with a putative class action Tuesday alleging its Auto Start Stop system fails to restart properly, causing damage to the engine and potentially putting drivers in dangerous situations. 

Plaintiff Gayane Khatuonian filed the lawsuit in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging problems with the Auto Start Stop system featured on BMW and Mini vehicle models between 2008 and 2014. She is seeking certification of a state and national class action suit.
