Caesars Folds $1B Casino Plans, Gansevoort Deal Amid Probe

Law360, New York (October 21, 2013, 3:14 PM EDT) -- Caesars Entertainment Corp. has pulled out of a $1 billion casino-resort project in Massachusetts and ended a $190 million Las Vegas partnership with Gansevoort Hotel Group because of a gaming commission's concerns over a Gansevoort investor's alleged Russian mafia ties, sources told Law360 on Monday.

After the commission on Friday gave Caesars a heads up that it may not be given a positive suitability determination, Caesars decided to pull out of the casino resort license bid it was making with Sterling Suffolk Racecourse LLC, according to...
