Tech Giants Tell Congress To Enact Patent Troll Deterrents

Law360, Washington (October 21, 2013, 6:41 PM EDT) -- Google Inc., Facebook Inc., Microsoft Corp. and more than 60 other technology companies on Friday urged lawmakers to pass patent reform that would crack down on so-called patent trolls by raising pleading requirements and putting limits on discovery.

The letter written by the technology lobbying group The Software Alliance asked the chairmen of the House and Senate Judiciary committees to enact recently drafted patent reform measures, including the U.S. House of Representatives' Patent Litigation and Innovation Act of 2013 and the Senate-drafted Patent Abuse Reduction Act...
