11th Circ. Reinstates DirecTV Technicians' Arbitration Award

Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 7:50 PM EDT) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Tuesday reversed a Georgia federal court's decision vacating an arbitration award in favor of a proposed class of technicians who alleged DirecTV LLC withheld their overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

A three-judge panel of the Eleventh Circuit held that the district court should not have granted DirecTV’s petition to vacate the August 2012 arbitration award, which allowed the technicians the opportunity to pursue their FLSA claim as a collective action.
