Atty Says Van Peebles Duped Him Into $1.4M Condo Buy

Law360, Los Angeles (October 25, 2013, 10:13 PM EDT) -- Actor Mario Van Peebles duped an attorney into buying his defective waterfront condominium for $1.37 million, the attorney told a California judge on Friday, saying Van Peebles didn't disclose there was mold in the condo and a “massive slope” in the dining room.

During a real estate fraud trial, attorney Adel Bebawy argued that the mold and the slope were material defects in the property that Van Peebles had intentionally failed to disclose, making the actor liable for between $1.5 million and $2.7 million in damages....
