Foxwoods Owners, MGM Break Off Licensing Deal

Law360, New York (October 28, 2013, 1:27 PM EDT) -- MGM Resorts International and the Native American tribal owners of Foxwoods Resort Casino announced late Friday they have agreed to part ways on a licensing deal that put the MGM name on the popular Connecticut entertainment complex.

Per the agreement to dissolve the 2006 licensing deal, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has a six-month time period to transition Foxwoods away from using the MGM Grand brand, MGM Resorts said in a statement. Foxwoods' owners contend the decision is part of a plan to “reinvigorate the brand”...
