$1B Casino Referendums Will Go On Despite Caesars Exit

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 6:30 PM EDT) -- Two upcoming referendums on a $1 billion Massachusetts casino resort proposed by the owners of the Suffolk Downs racetrack will go on as scheduled, despite concerns raised about the recent departure of Caesars Entertainment Corp. from the bidding joint venture, gaming authorities confirmed Tuesday.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission said it agreed with the recommendation of Secretary of State William Galvin to continue on with the Nov. 5 referendums that are set to take place in host community Revere, Mass., and in Boston.
