Fla. Mall Developers Reach $6.5M Deal To End TCPA Suit

Law360, New York (October 30, 2013, 5:55 PM EDT) -- The Mosaic Group and Palm Beach Mall Holdings Inc. reached a $6.5 million settlement Tuesday in Florida federal court to end a class action claiming the companies violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending unwanted text messages promoting a new mall.

South Florida resident Debbie Lanza filed the class action in January alleging that Mosaic and PBMH violated the TCPA by sending nearly 90,000 West Palm Beach, Fla., residents unsolicited and unauthorized text messages promoting a new 84-acre outlet mall in Palm Beach County, Fla.....
