Hedge Fund Chief Asks 2nd Circ. To Nix Conviction

Law360, New York (November 4, 2013, 9:20 PM EST) -- Hedge fund founder Doug Whitman on Monday asked the Second Circuit to overturn his conviction for insider trading in Google Inc. and other companies, arguing he did not have a chance to present key evidence at trial.

The trial judge prevented Whitman’s lawyers from having an expert testify that his activities were not consistent with insider trading, his lawyer told a panel of judges at oral arguments in Manhattan.
