Monster's 'Reckless' Claims Axed in Beasties' IP Suit

Law360, San Francisco (November 4, 2013, 7:13 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Monday threw out Monster Energy Co.'s claims that a disc jockey gave it permission to use Beastie Boys songs, calling the beverage company “reckless” and “unseemly” for claiming it could obtain those rights from anyone other than the hip-hop group.
