Mass. Officials Wary Of Easing Casino Negotiation Deadline

Law360, New York (November 7, 2013, 8:53 PM EST) -- At least two members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission said at a Thursday hearing they are not leaning toward extending the negotiation time for gambling license bidders and neighboring communities, despite requests from several towns.

The commissioners said they would be hesitant to further extend the process given that there have already been delays and given that a forced arbitration option exists for any bidders and towns unable to reach a compromise by the upcoming deadlines.
