Audi, Volkswagen Get Engine Defect Suit Pared

Law360, New York (November 6, 2013, 4:05 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Monday trimmed a proposed class action accusing Volkswagen AG and Audi AG of selling Audi A4 and A5 cars with engines that burn too much oil, a defect that allegedly could cause the engines to fail at any time.

The plaintiffs are all California residents who leased or purchased A4s or A5s, and they brought the lawsuit on behalf of a nationwide class of all current and former owners or lessees of any 2007 through 2013 model year Audi or Volkswagen vehicle...
