Seyfarth Defamation Claims Withdrawn In NYC Restaurant Case

Law360, New York (November 14, 2013, 7:49 PM EST) -- Restaurant customers who alleged a massive conspiracy by New York City eateries involving illegal gratuities and deceptive pricing withdrew defamation claims against Seyfarth Shaw LLP on Thursday, leaving Darden Restaurants Inc. as the lone defendant in the once-sprawling class action.

Named plaintiff Ted Dimond and three others withdrew a complaint accusing Seyfarth of violating attorney ethics laws by leveling false claims of misconduct against their legal team for purportedly bringing a baseless lawsuit designed to harass and extort Darden, Seyfarth’s client.
