Ex-Mayor Of Calif. City Cops To Lying To FBI Over Bribes

Law360, Los Angeles (November 20, 2013, 4:31 PM EST) -- The ex-mayor of Rosemead, Calif., pled guilty Monday to attempted witness tampering and making false statements to the FBI in a corruption case related to an alleged bribery scheme over a real estate development project.

Federal prosecutors accused John Tran, 36, of illegally soliciting and receiving a series of payments from developer Tammy Gong in exchange for city approval of a development project, although it was never approved in the end.
