Navy Captain Suspended In Bribery Scheme Probe

Law360, New York (November 22, 2013, 2:13 PM EST) -- A U.S. Navy captain has been suspended as deputy commander of Coastal Riverine Group One in connection with an ongoing bribery investigation into illegal perks offered by longtime defense contractor Glenn Defense Marine Asia, the Navy announced Thursday. 

Capt. Chris Peterschmidt, commander of CRG1, suspended Capt. David Haas from his duties as deputy commander of the San Diego-based harbor security group and temporarily reassigned him on Nov. 15 to the staff of the Navy’s Expeditionary Training Group, according to the Navy.
