First American Title Unit Reaches Deal In Fee Case

Law360, San Diego (December 11, 2013, 10:44 PM EST) -- A First American Title Insurance Co. subsidiary on Wednesday sought preliminarily approval of a proposed settlement of a class action accusing it of securing title insurance from itself without ever searching for less expensive coverage from other companies when it acted as an escrow agent for plaintiffs trying to pay off home loans.
