Weird Al Drops $5M Digital Royalties Suit Against Sony

Law360, New York (December 17, 2013, 7:21 PM EST) -- "Weird Al" Yankovic on Monday dropped a $5 million lawsuit claiming Sony Music Entertainment underpaid him for digital royalties, three weeks after a scheduled mediation session between the parody singer and the label.

Yankovic and Sony filed a stipulation in Manhattan federal court agreeing that the suit would be dismissed. Though the two sides did not say whether a settlement had been reached, they had a mediation session scheduled for Nov. 25.
