Brooklyn Groups Knock $72M In Public Funds For High Rise

Law360, New York (December 18, 2013, 4:12 PM EST) -- Residents of Brooklyn's Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood sued the New York State Housing Finance Agency and Hudson Cos. Inc. on Tuesday over a proposed 23-story tower that has allegedly been awarded $72 million in public funds without a proper environmental review.

The Prospect Park East Network, Flatbush Development Corp., Flatbush Tenant Coalition and several other groups are seeking to block the 254-unit tower set to be built by Hudson, claiming it would not fit in with the mostly low-rise neighborhood and could cause significant environmental issues....
