NJ Mayor Renews Wiretap Challenge After Co-Defendant's Plea

Law360, New York (January 2, 2014, 4:16 PM EST) -- Trenton, N.J., Mayor Tony Mack last week renewed a challenge to wiretap evidence in his federal corruption trial, saying the recorded conversations were contrived by a former co-defendant, who struck a plea agreement last month, to gain leverage in an unrelated prosecution. 

Attorneys for Mack and his brother Ralphiel filed a notice of motion in limine Dec. 27, just days before the scheduled start date of the Macks’ trial on corruption charges stemming from alleged bribery connected to a municipal construction project.
