LA Cracks Down On Internet Cafes For Gambling Games

Law360, Los Angeles (January 2, 2014, 9:34 PM EST) -- The Los Angeles city attorney sued a gaming company and several Internet cafe owners Thursday, alleging casino-style sweepstakes games installed at the cafes are unregulated, illegal gambling machines.

Named in the suit are the makers of the games and the owners of several now-defunct Internet cafes that ran the computer games, which worked much like a casino operation, according to the city attorney.
