Hotel Group Sues To Force Vote On $197.5M Ore. Hyatt

Law360, New York (January 6, 2014, 1:38 PM EST) -- A group of hoteliers and activists filed a lawsuit in Oregon court Friday to force state officials to permit a petition to move forward that could put a ballot vote on tax incentives approved for a $197.5 million Hyatt-branded convention center hotel.

The group, known as the Coalition for Fair Budget Priorities, lobbed the suit after Multnomah County officials ruled last week that it could not pursue a ballot initiative to overturn the county's approval of tax incentives for the project. With the clock ticking on...
