Class Cert. Nixed In Marriott ERISA Suit Over Stock Program

Law360, Los Angeles (January 7, 2014, 4:36 PM EST) -- A Maryland federal judge on Tuesday rejected a bid for class certification Tuesday by a group of former Marriott International Inc. employees who sued the company for allegedly failing to fulfill terms of a stock awards program.

The lawsuit, filed under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 in 2010, arose from stock awards that Marriott and its predecessors Marriott-Hot Shoppes Inc. and Marriott Corp. granted to employees between 1968 and 1993.
