Feds To Probe Christie Admin's Use Of $25M In Sandy Aid

Law360, New York (January 13, 2014, 8:23 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will audit New Jersey’s use of $25 million in federal Superstorm Sandy aid, in response to allegations that Gov. Chris Christie’s administration had entered a tourism marketing contract with an inflated price because it offered Christie free publicity.

The audit was announced Monday by New Jersey Congressman Frank Pallone Jr., who had sent a letter in August to HUD Inspector General David A. Montoya, calling for an investigation into how Christie’s administration had spent $25 million carved out...
