Beastie Boys, Monster Fail To Reach Deal In IP Row

Law360, New York (January 13, 2014, 8:03 PM EST) -- Monster Energy Co. and the Beastie Boys are too far apart to settle a lawsuit over the beverage company’s use of the band’s songs in a promotional video, saying on Monday they are prepared go to trial in the copyright case.

The two sides have been unable to bridge a large gulf in their settlement positions, their lawyers said at a status conference before U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer.
