Loral Can't Escape Patent Suit Over Satellite Tech

Law360, Los Angeles (January 21, 2014, 5:26 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Friday denied Space Systems/Loral LLC's bid to pare ViaSat Inc.'s patent infringement suit against it over satellite networking communications technology, ruling summary judgment was inappropriate because there were still genuine factual disputes in play. 

In three separate orders, U.S. District Judge Marilyn L. Huff refused to rule that SS/L hadn't infringed ViaSat's U.S. Patent Numbers 8,107,875; 8,068,827; and 8,010,043.
