NYC Transit Agency Hikes Price Tag On Grand Central Project

Law360, New York (January 27, 2014, 7:38 PM EST) -- The long-awaited Long Island Rail Road access to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan may take longer to complete and cost more than expected, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials reported at a board committee meeting Monday.

The East Side Access project, meant to connect the LIRR to Grand Central Terminal for the first time in the railroad’s history, may not be completed until after 2020 and cost close to $10 billion, according to new estimates reported Monday, an MTA spokesman confirmed to Law360.
