US Reps. Want Probe Of NJ's Split With Sandy Contractor

Law360, New York (January 29, 2014, 6:34 PM EST) -- Two New Jersey congressmen on Wednesday called for a federal investigation into the state's abrupt cancellation of a nearly $68 million contract with a Louisiana company tapped to administer almost $1 billion in Superstorm Sandy housing recovery programs.

U.S. Reps Bill Pascrell Jr. and Frank Pallone, both Democrats, want the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to not only probe New Jersey's dealings with Hammerman & Gainer Inc. but also appoint a federal official to monitor the state's use of Sandy funds.
