Compass Group Strikes $5M Deal In Food Workers' Wage Suit

Law360, New York (February 4, 2014, 8:15 PM EST) -- Catering and dining services company Compass Group USA Inc. agreed to a settlement worth up to $5 million to resolve a putative wage-and-hour class action brought on behalf of an estimated 22,000 current and former food services workers, the plaintiff told a California federal court Monday.

Gerardo Mojica, a former baker and food services worker for Compass Group unit and co-defendant Bon Appetit Management Co., filed an unopposed motion for preliminary approval and told the court that the deal was the culmination of more than three years of discovery, litigation and negotiations.
