Philly Politicians Back Market8 Casino Plan

Law360, New York (February 12, 2014, 4:19 PM EST) -- Three Philadelphia politicians from both parties are backing Market East Partners LP’s proposed $570 million Market8 casino in Center City, the Market East group announced Tuesday.

The endorsements — from state Reps. Michael H. O'Brien, D-Philadelphia, John Taylor, R-Philadelphia, and Philadelphia City Councilman Mark Squilla — follow last month’s Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board hearings, in which five contenders for the city’s second casino license presented their proposals.
