Fox, Marvel Sued Over 'Fantastic Four' Toys

Law360, New York (March 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Eyewear maker Oakley Inc. is suing the companies behind the 2007 movie “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” alleging that a movie tie-in toy set includes a copy of an Oakley brand of sunglasses that willfully infringes one of the company's design patents.

Oakley filed the suit on March 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against movie studio Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp., comic book publisher Marvel Characters Inc. and United Kingdom publisher RDP Ltd.
