BP To Begin Medical Claim Payouts In $130M Deepwater Deal

Law360, Los Angeles (February 13, 2014, 10:26 PM EST) -- The Fifth Circuit on Tuesday agreed to dismiss the remaining appeals over a settlement of at least $130 million that BP PLC had struck with a class of 200,000 cleanup workers from the Deepwater Horizon disaster, a move that plaintiffs attorneys say clears the way for the oil company to begin paying for the workers’ medical treatments.
