Ex-Steeler Settles Discrimination Suit Against Pa. Casino

Law360, Philadelphia (February 14, 2014, 5:19 PM EST) -- A former player with the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers has agreed to drop claims that he was subjected to racial discrimination during his tenure as a director of sports marketing at a Pennsylvania casino operated by Cannery Casino Resorts.

A spokesman for the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington County confirmed that it had struck a settlement deal with Michael Merriweather on Feb. 11 to put an end to claims that the ex-Steelers linebacker was fired after complaining about a racially hostile work environment.
