Ga. Real Estate Investor Cops To Bid-Rigging Scheme

Law360, New York (February 21, 2014, 5:33 PM EST) -- A Georgia real estate investor may face a lengthy prison term and more than $1 million in fines after admitting her role in a conspiracy to rig bids at public real estate foreclosure auctions during an appearance in an Atlanta federal court Thursday, authorities said.

Under the terms of an agreement with prosecutors, Amy James pled guilty to violating the Sherman Act and conspiracy to commit mail fraud, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release.
