Calif. Sen. Charged With Taking Bribes From Undercover FBI

Ronald Calderon, D-Montebello, was indicted Thursday on dozens of corruption charges, including claims he accepted $100,000 in bribes from a Long Beach hospital owner and undercover FBI agents posing as Hollywood film executives in exchange for favorable legislation.

Prosecutors allege Calderon accepted the cash bribes, along with fancy dinners and trips to golf resorts, in exchange for sponsoring legislation that would allow the hospital to continue a lucrative insurance fraud and allow the supposed film studio to take advantage of tax credits....
