Fla. Senate Bill Would Revise Public Funding To Stadiums

Law360, Miami (February 24, 2014, 8:48 PM EST) -- Florida lawmakers will have another crack at revising a state program that makes sales tax revenue available to professional sports facilities projects under a bill filed Monday that increases the potential disbursements, but also adds a competitive review process.

S.B. 1216, submitted by Sen. Jack Latvala, R-Clearwater, is proposing a “Sports Development Program” a year after the Florida House let a similar measure die after it passed in the Senate.
