Raytheon Nabs $185M Modification To NASA Satellite Contract

Law360, Washington (February 28, 2014, 4:20 PM EST) -- NASA has awarded Raytheon Co. a $185 million modification to a satellite system contract, which will allow Raytheon to add operational capabilities to the storm- and weather-tracking satellites, the company said on Friday.

Under the Joint Polar Satellite System Common Ground System contract, Raytheon intends to modify three National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellites that help the agency track storms and environmental changes over time.

The modification beefs up the contract's total value to $1.7 billion, and Raytheon plans to add additional data and operational capabilities...
