Fla. Sen. Panel Advances NBA, MLS All-Star Game Tax Break

Law360, Miami (March 5, 2014, 2:52 PM EST) -- A Florida Senate panel advanced a measure Wednesday that aims to make the state more desirable for National Basketball Association and Major League Soccer all-star contests by expanding sales tax exemptions for tickets to their events.

S.B. 330, sponsored by Sen. David Simmons, R-Altamonte Springs, passed easily through the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Finance and Tax. Having already passed in the Commerce and Tourism and Community Affairs committees, its next stop will be before the full Senate.
