Military Telecom Contractor Cops To Bribery Scheme

Law360, New York (March 6, 2014, 3:58 PM EST) -- A government contractor pled guilty in Virginia federal court on Wednesday for his role in a scheme to pay $144,000 in bribes to U.S. Department of Defense transportation officials in exchange for telecommunications contracts, prosecutors said.

Roderic J. Smith of Chesapeake, Va., pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to bribe public officials after entering into a plea agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, two weeks after his business partners Dwayne A. Hardman and Michael P. McPhail reached similar agreements for their role in the scheme...
