Judge Mistakenly Tossed Patent Suit Against BofA

Law360, New York (March 7, 2014, 2:28 PM EST) -- A North Carolina federal judge on Thursday reopened Intellectual Ventures Management LLC's patent suit against Bank of America, a day after mistakenly closing the case when he issued a ruling that resolved only some of the issues.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Robert J. Conrad Jr. granted Bank of America's motion to dismiss Intellectual Ventures' induced and contributory infringement claims for failure to state a claim, in a dispute over online billing patents. He then ordered the court clerk to close the case.
