Live Nation Ticket Class Action Left Teetering On 1 Claim

Law360, New York (March 12, 2014, 5:05 PM EDT) -- A Maryland federal judge on Monday let a proposed class action alleging Live Nation Entertainment Inc. imposed illegal service charges on tickets and paid kickbacks to a Baltimore venue go forward, but only after dismissing the bulk of the suit.

Plaintiff Andre Bourgeois’ suit claims that Baltimore city ordinances limit service charges on tickets to 50 cents and that Live Nation’s ticket service charges average well over 10 times that amount. But U.S. District Judge Ellen Lipton Hollander left only one of his 10 claims standing,...
