GM Facing Criminal Probe Over Recall

Law360, New York (March 11, 2014, 8:46 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation into whether General Motors Co. waited too long to recall 1.6 million vehicles over an ignition switch problem linked to more than a dozen deaths, according to Tuesday reports.

The DOJ will investigate whether GM stalled for about 10 years — as plaintiffs attorneys have claimed —  before finally recalling the vehicles last month, confidential sources told The Associated Press.
