Guard Members Defend $81M KBR Toxin Award In 9th Circ.

Law360, New York (March 11, 2014, 5:06 PM EDT) -- National Guard members urged the Ninth Circuit on Monday to rebuff defense contractor KBR Inc.'s contention that a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling killed an $81 million judgment in a toxin exposure suit, arguing an Oregon federal court has jurisdiction over the case.

KBR is challenging the judgment in favor of 12 Oregon-based National Guard members, who alleged the company exposed them to large amounts of the carcinogenic compound sodium dichromate while they worked at a facility in Iraq.
