Big 5 Strikes $1M Deal On ZIP Code Data-Collection Suits

Law360, Los Angeles (March 12, 2014, 8:43 PM EDT) -- A California judge said Wednesday she would preliminarily approve Big 5 Corp.'s proposed class settlement of $1 million in gift cards and vouchers for customers whose ZIP codes were illegally collected when making credit card purchases at the sporting goods stores.

The settlement of consolidated class actions would allow customers who made a credit card purchase at the retailer from February 2007 to February 2011 to file a claim and receive either a $25 gift card if they submit proof of that purchase or a voucher...
