Judge Dumps Class Action Bid V. Goldman Sachs

Law360, New York (April 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge has refused to certify a class action alleging that Goldman Sachs & Co. breached fiduciary duties by failing to disclose all fees and expenses charged to investors.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas denied Broadhead Limited Partnership's motion for class certification on Friday, ruling that a finding of liability against Goldman Sachs would lead to issues of calculating individual damages that would predominate over questions common to the class.
