Officers Sue Port Authority For Cronyism, Promotion Abuses

Law360, New York (March 18, 2014, 7:33 PM EDT) -- Three Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police officers sued the bi-state agency on Monday for alleged cronyism and other improper practices in connection with numerous promotions to the rank of sergeant.

Two New Jersey residents and a New York resident accuse the Port Authority of abuses that overshadowed policies intended to ensure a fair and merit-based process for bumping up officers in the agency's police department.
