Moby Hit With Copyright Suit Over Sampling In '90s Singles

Law360, Los Angeles (March 25, 2014, 4:49 PM EDT) -- Moby, Warner Music Group Corp. and others on Monday were hit with a copyright infringement suit in California federal court, which claims Moby's 1992 singles “Next Is the E” and “Thousands” lifted samples from a song by girl group First Choice. 

VMG Salsoul LLC, which recently lost an infringement suit against Madonna over samples used in her hit “Vogue,” claims the Moby songs have unauthorized samples from First Choice’s 1983 hit “Let No Man Put Asunder.”
