HSBC Hit With FLSA Suit By Sales Workers, Tellers

Law360, New York (April 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Just weeks after winning class status for loan officers in a wage-and-hour lawsuit against the mortgage division of HSBC Bank USA, lawyers have hit the bank with another complaint, this time on behalf of sales workers, tellers and other branch employees.

Plaintiffs' firm Nichols Kaster & Anderson filed the putative collective action last Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, alleging HSBC and three subsidiaries misclassified a host of workers as exempt from overtime wages and failed to pay lower-rung employees...
