MDL Created For Nissan Odometer Cases

Law360, New York (April 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Five proposed class actions against Nissan Motor Co., alleging that the company intentionally designed odometers on its vehicles to inflate the number of miles driven, have been consolidated in Tennessee.

A similar suit against Honda Motor Co. Ltd. resulted in a $115 million settlement last summer.

The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation ordered on April 7 that the five cases, which were filed in California, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Texas, be consolidated in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
