Judge OKs NYC Plan On Calorie Displays

Law360 (April 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Months after tossing a previous version of the regulation, a federal judge has allowed New York City to make chain restaurants prominently post nutritional information.

Judge Richard J. Holwell of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled on Wednesday against the New York State Restaurant Association, which had challenged a revamped provision of the city's health code.

The provision requires restaurants that have more than 15 outlets nationally to post calorie values for standardized items on menus and menu boards....
