Wal-Mart Contractor Agrees To Pay $21M In Wages Action

By Scott Flaherty (May 14, 2014, 4:14 PM EDT) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. contractor Schneider Logistics Transloading and Distribution Inc. has agreed to pay $21 million to resolve a proposed wages class action in a settlement that also resolves claims against Wal-Mart, according to a filing Tuesday in California federal court.

The deal, which was agreed to in principle and is subject to court approval, would resolve a group of warehouse workers' wage claims against Wal-Mart Stores East LP and Schneider, a transportation company that operates Wal-Mart warehouses under a contract with the retail giant, according to a settlement notice filed Tuesday.
